The Bank of Japan's foreign exchange market rates as of 5 p.m. on the 6th showed the yen at \159.37-39 per dollar, marking a yen appreciation of 22 sen from the previous day. Against the euro, the rate stood at \184.30-34 per euro, representing a euro appreciation of 9 sen against the yen. The euro-dollar rate was $1.1564-65 per euro, reflecting a euro gain of $0.0022 against the dollar.
