The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1088, lost was 488, and unchanged was 59. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 70.14 yen. This was followed by TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> at 15.78 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 14.17 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 12.82 yen, NTT DATA <9613> at 10.11 yen.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 40.94 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KONAMI <9766> was at 20.39 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 16.77 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 15.68 yen, TDK <6762> was at 8.88 yen.
By industry, 26 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Textiles & Apparels Sector, and Mining Sector. Insurance Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
