On the 4th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 454.29 yen (-1.20%) lower from the previous day to 37,331.18 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 512, lost was 1068, and unchanged was 55. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 92.59 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 78.52 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 50.6 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 19.14 yen, 7&i <3382> was at 14.9 yen.
The top positive contributor was DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367>, pushing up The Nikkei by 9.70 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 6.91 yen, SCREEN Holdings <7735> at 6.58 yen, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries <7011> at 5.41 yen, IHI <7013> at 3.61 yen.
By industry, 10 of the 33 industries gained. Machinery Sector ranked first, followed by Air Transportation Sector, Textiles & Apparels Sector, and Marine Transportation Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Mining Sector were among the top losers.
