On the 5th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 33.11 yen (0.09%) higher from the previous day to 38,831.48 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 938, lost was 644, and unchanged was 55. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.

The top positive contributor was BANDAI NAMCO <7832>, pushing up The Nikkei by 52.28 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 28.80 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 22.85 yen, HONDA MOTOR <7267> at 22.39 yen, KDDI <9433> at 16.97 yen.

TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 22.19 yen to The Nikkei. Below, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 19.2 yen, KYOCERA <6971> was at 16.7 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 15.39 yen, Astellas Pharma <4503> was at 9.45 yen.

By industry, 16 of the 33 industries gained. Marine Transportation Sector ranked first, followed by Other Products Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, and Information & Communication Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Land Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
