OSAKA GAS rebounds on report of plans to operate, invest in up to 5 new gas-fired power plants in U.S.
OSAKA GAS <9532> rebounded. The Nikkei online edition reported on the 2nd that "Osaka Gas has begun considering the operation of and investment in up to five new gas-fired power plants in the United States." The stock attracted buying in anticipation of medium-term earnings contributions. According to the article, OSAKA GAS plans to engage in new natural gas-fueled power generation businesses in southern Texas and the northeastern region including Virginia, with joint ventures and power plant operations under consideration. The report indicates the company aims to begin operations as early as around 2030.
