Kintetsu Department Store Remains Resilient as Expo Official Store Drives FY02/2026 Results Above Forecast
Kintetsu Department Store CO.,Ltd. <8244> has shown resilient trading amid a weak market tone. After the close of trading on the 27th last week, the company announced that its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending February 2026, which are currently being compiled, appear to have exceeded initial forecasts. Sales revenue is expected to reach \125.4 billion (up 8.9% year-on-year), up from the previous forecast of \121.0 billion. Operating profit is projected at \6.7 billion (up 25.2% year-on-year), revised upward from \5.4 billion, while net profit is anticipated at \3.7 billion (up 6.2% year-on-year), compared to the prior estimate of \3.5 billion. Buying interest has emerged on dips, viewing this as positive news. The company attributed the upward revision to strong performance at its "Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai Official Store" and tax-free sales exceeding previous expectations.
