ETS Group starts afternoon session with bid-only indication after raising first-half profit forecast on strong progress in electric power projects
ETS Group <253A> started the afternoon session with a bid-only indication. The market reacted positively to the company's announcement around 11:30 a.m. that it had revised its consolidated earnings forecast for the interim period ending March upward, raising operating profit from \371 million to \575 million (up 50.5% year-on-year) and net profit from \236 million to \320 million (up 40.4% year-on-year).
Although the company revised its revenue forecast downward from \5,846 million to \5,398 million (up 6.5% year-on-year) in the electrical construction segment due to deterioration in equipment business, it raised its profit forecast thanks to smooth progress in electric power projects and improved profitability from cost reductions in certain projects. The steady performance in sales and profit in the real estate-related business segment also contributed to the upward revision.
