On the 26th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 145.97 yen (-0.27%) lower from the previous day to 53,603.65 yen, falling for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 548, lost was 979, and unchanged was 53. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 123.01 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 42.52 yen, Tokio Marine <8766> was at 13.54 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 12.37 yen, Sumitomo Electric <5802> was at 10.86 yen.
The top positive contributor was DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367>, pushing up The Nikkei by 24.90 yen. This was followed by Fujikura <5803> at 21.39 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 17.05 yen, Lasertec <6920> at 15.51 yen, KIKKOMAN <2801> at 13.20 yen.
By industry, 12 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Marine Transportation Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector. Insurance Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Banks Sector were among the top losers.
