On the 19th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 352.60 yen (-0.65%) lower from the previous weekend to 53,583.57 yen, falling for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 570, lost was 977, and unchanged was 51. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 171.14 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 37.35 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 28.08 yen, TOYOTA TSUSHO <8015> was at 24.87 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 22.46 yen.
The top positive contributor was Recruit Holdings <6098>, pushing up The Nikkei by 17.25 yen. This was followed by AEON <8267> at 14.14 yen, Ajinomoto <2802> at 13.97 yen, KDDI <9433> at 12.84 yen, DISCO <6146> at 12.17 yen.
By industry, 16 of the 33 industries gained. Food Products Sector ranked first, followed by Retail Trade Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Machinery Sector. Rubber Products Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
