On the 3rd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 561.23 yen (1.14%) higher from the previous day to 49,864.68 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 431, lost was 1117, and unchanged was 57. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 280.77 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 200.55 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 148.41 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 39.31 yen, Lasertec <6920> at 27.68 yen.
TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 30.33 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 29.68 yen, AEON <8267> was at 18.5 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 16.88 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 16.21 yen.
By industry, 10 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Services Sector, Real Estate Sector, and Electric Appliances Sector. Banks Sector, Retail Trade Sector, and Electric Power & Gas Sector were among the top losers.
