On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 237.79 yen (0.60%) higher from the previous day to 39,901.19 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1172, lost was 373, and unchanged was 76. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 49.63 yen. This was followed by SONY <6758> at 15.70 yen, BANDAI NAMCO <7832> at 13.17 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 12.16 yen, KDDI <9433> at 11.95 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 24.31 yen to The Nikkei. Below, 7&i <3382> was at 20.51 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 12.16 yen, Lasertec <6920> was at 11.68 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> was at 5.4 yen.
By industry, 26 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Services Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Information & Communication Sector. Mining Sector, Iron & Steel Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector were among the top losers.
