On the 20th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 85.11 yen (-0.22%) lower from the previous day to 38,403.23 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 447, lost was 1123, and unchanged was 53. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 67.85 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Nintendo <7974> was at 18.13 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 16.76 yen, SONY <6758> was at 13.8 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 13.17 yen.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 106.44 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 46.50 yen, TDK <6762> at 22.20 yen, Lasertec <6920> at 10.38 yen, DISCO <6146> at 6.52 yen.
By industry, 31 of the 33 industries lost, with only two industries, Pulp & Paper Sector and Marine Transportation Sector, gained. Other Products Sector ranked as a top loser, followed by Insurance Sector, Mining Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Services Sector.
