The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 77.34 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 33.54 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 17.10 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 12.33 yen, NTT DATA <9613> at 7.23 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 53.27 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 13.07 yen, SONY <6758> was at 12.33 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 7.89 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> was at 5.92 yen.
By industry, 18 of the 33 industries gained. Banks Sector ranked first, followed by Electric Power & Gas Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Land Transportation Sector. Rubber Products Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Retail Trade Sector were among the top losers.
