On the 22nd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 618.27 yen (1.58%) higher from the previous day to 39,646.25 yen, rising for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1046, lost was 513, and unchanged was 81. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 193.74 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 99.70 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 44.88 yen, DISCO <6146> at 36.43 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 29.46 yen.
TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 5.67 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Nitori <9843> was at 4.6 yen, Tokio Marine <8766> was at 4.44 yen, ITOCHU <8001> was at 2.53 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 1.58 yen.
By industry, 22 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Other Products Sector, Machinery Sector, and Information & Communication Sector. Oil & Coal Products Sector, Mining Sector, and Marine Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
