WEATHERNEWS, First Half Ordinary Profit Increases by 43%, Dividend Effectively Increased

WEATHERNEWS INC. <4825> [TSE Prime] announced its financial results after the market closed on December 26th (15:30). The consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending May 2026 (June to November) expanded 2.32 billion yen, an increase 43.3% compared to the same period last year. Progress toward the full-year plan of 5.00 billion yen was 46.5%, exceeding the five-year average of 36.6%.

Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the unchanged full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated ordinary profit for the December to May period (second half) is expected to decrease 6.0% from the same period last year to 2.67 billion yen.

At the same time, due to a planned 2-for-1 forward stock split is scheduled for February 28, the annual dividend for the current fiscal year has been revised from the original plan of 90 yen to 97.5～102.5 yen (equivalent to 150～160 yen before the forward stock split). This effectively represents increase in the annual dividend.

In the most recent three-month period, from September to November (2Q), the consolidated ordinary profit grew 14.2% from the same period last year, reaching 1.40 billion yen. The operating profit margin rose from 21.2% in the same period last year to 22.1%.
