The JPX-Nikkei Index 400 is a stock price index composed of 400 companies selected from all stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. These companies are chosen based on their appeal to investors, with a focus on efficient use of capital and other factors that make them attractive for investors. This index was jointly developed by Japan Exchange Group, Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Nikkei Inc. It was first published on January 6, 2014. The constituent stocks of the index are reviewed annually. The announcement of changes to the index composition is made on the fifth business day of August, with the actual changes implemented on the last business day of August.
