Howa Machinery extends gains on subsidiary acquisition of street sweeper leasing firm Machine Service◇
Howa Machinery, Ltd. <6203> continued to rise. After the close of trading on the 1st, the company announced that it has jointly acquired all shares of Machine Service (Fuchu City, Tokyo), which engages in the sale, leasing, and rental of street sweepers, together with EIWA CORPORATION <9857>, prompting buying on expectations of a positive contribution to earnings.
By operating in a three-way integrated business structure that includes Machine Service, which possesses strong technical capabilities and a customer base in the after-sales service sector as a parts center and authorized service facility for Howa Machinery's street sweepers and industrial cleaning machines, higher synergies are anticipated. Howa Machinery will hold a 51.0% voting rights ownership stake, with the acquisition price undisclosed. The company stated that the impact of this transaction on earnings will be minor.
