Crude Oil ETFs Rebound After Morning Decline as WTI Surges Following Trump Speech◇
Crude oil ETFs including NEXT FUNDS NOMURA Crude Oil Long Index Linked Exchange Traded Fund <1699> and WisdomTree WTI Crude Oil <1690> rebounded into positive territory after declining in the morning session. U.S. crude oil futures saw WTI (West Texas Intermediate) May contracts surge to around $104 per barrel in after-hours trading as of noon Japan time on the 2nd. President Trump delivered a speech at 10 a.m. Japan time (9 p.m. Eastern Time on the 1st), but it contained no concrete details regarding an end to the Iran war. WTI prices had fallen to around $98 in the Tokyo morning session. However, following the speech, expectations for an early end to the conflict receded, pushing crude oil prices sharply higher.
