On the 3rd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 1,667.89 yen (2.50%) higher from the previous day to 68,402.13 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1019, lost was 507, and unchanged was 32. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 723.07 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 323.42 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 85.88 yen, KYOCERA <6971> at 72.14 yen, FANUC <6954> at 64.03 yen.
SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 255.04 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 101.37 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 19.61 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 10.56 yen, SONY <6758> was at 8.38 yen.
By industry, 25 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Glass & Ceramics Products Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Mining Sector. Information & Communication Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Air Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
