On the 8th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 2,878.86 yen (5.39%) higher from the previous day to 56,308.42 yen, rising for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1382, lost was 165, and unchanged was 25. The percentage of rising stocks exceeded 80%.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 728.90 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 399.25 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 214.81 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 206.76 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 101.77 yen.
Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 17.43 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KIKKOMAN <2801> was at 8.3 yen, Idemitsu Kosan <5019> was at 6.54 yen, Otsuka <4578> was at 4.86 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 4.59 yen.
By industry, 28 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Glass & Ceramics Products Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Real Estate Sector. Mining Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector were among the top losers.
