Major Japanese Brokerages Forecast Furukawa Electric, Resonac, and Mitsui Mining Additions in MSCI May Review◇
The results of the MSCI Semi-Annual Index Review are scheduled for release in the early hours of May 13, 2026 (Japan time). On April 7, Daiwa Securities issued a preliminary forecast ahead of the cutoff date, predicting three additions and three deletions for the Japan standard index.
According to the brokerage, Furukawa Electric <5801>, Resonac Holdings <4004>, and Mitsui Mining and Smelting <5706> are top candidates for inclusion. Conversely, TIS <3626>, MonotaRO <3064>, and Sysmex <6869> were identified as potential candidates for removal. The changes are set to take effect as of the market close on May 29, with significant trading volume expected as passive funds rebalance their portfolios to align with the new benchmark constituents.
