The Bank of Japan announced its reference exchange rate at 5:00 p.m. on April 7th. The dollar/yen rate was quoted at \159.86?87 per dollar, with the yen weakening by 49 sen (\0.49) from the previous session. The euro/yen rate stood at \184.50?54 per euro, with the euro strengthening by 20 sen (\0.20) against the yen. The euro/dollar rate was quoted at $1.1541?43 per euro, with the euro weakening by $0.0023 against the dollar.
