McDonald's Japan rebounds to record high on 2.4% March same-store sales growth
McDonald's Holdings Company (Japan) <2702> rebounded to hit a new all-time high. The company released its monthly sales report for March after the market close on the 6th. Same-store sales rose 2.4% year-over-year (YoY), decelerating from February's 8.0% growth. Customer traffic dipped 0.9% YoY, marking the first decline since December 2024. However, the average ticket size increased 3.3% YoY to reach its highest level since May 2025. Additionally, total system-wide sales grew 4.4% YoY. This sustained top-line growth, combined with a rotation into defensive domestic equities amid geopolitical uncertainty surrounding Iran, appears to have driven the stock's performance.
