Sojitz Corporation <2768> rebounded for the first time in three days. The company announced on the same day that it has invested in Fidem Energy (Tennessee), a U.S. company engaged in the production and sales of landfill-derived biomethane in the southeastern United States, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sojitz Corporation of America, making it an equity method affiliate. This announcement was viewed positively by the market.

Through this investment, Sojitz will enter the biomethane production and sales business in the United States. By combining Fidem's expertise in developing and operating landfill-derived biomethane with Sojitz's business development capabilities and global network cultivated over many years, the company aims to expand its biomethane business throughout the United States. It also aims to supply the fuel to other regions, including Japan and other Asian countries.
