The Bank of Japan announced the foreign exchange market rates as of 5 p.m. on the 31st, showing the dollar at \159.62-64, representing a yen appreciation of 15 sen compared to the previous day. The euro stood at \183.12-16, marking a yen gain of 58 sen against the euro. Against the dollar, the euro was at $1.1472-74, down 0.0025 dollars.
