Shinko Shoji rises for third day to yearly high as former Murakami Fund affiliates raise stake to 14.33%
Shinko Shoji Co.,Ltd. <8141> rose for a third consecutive day, hitting a new yearly high. Following the close of trading on the 30th, a change report filed by City Index Elevenths (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), an affiliate of the former Murakami Fund, revealed that the joint holders' stake had increased further from 13.22% to 14.33%, apparently attracting speculative buying. Among the joint holders, City Index First's (Taito-ku, Tokyo) stake rose from 3.45% to 5.08%, while Reno's (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) stake fell to zero. The stake held by Aya Nomura, the eldest daughter of Yoshiaki Murakami, remained unchanged at 9.25%. The reporting obligation trigger date was the 23rd. The investment purpose stated by Aya Nomura and City Index First is "investment and, depending on circumstances, providing advice to management and making important proposals."
