On the 3rd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 1,778.19 yen (-3.06%) lower from the previous day to 56,279.05 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 69, lost was 1512, and unchanged was 9. It was a completely discounted deal with more than 90% of stocks falling in price.

Only 6 stocks in The Nikkei rose in value, while 219 stocks fell. The top negative contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, with one brand pushing down The Nikkei by 229.43 yen. Below, <6762> at 121.59 yen, <8035> at 93.26 yen, <6954> at 60.33 yen, <4062> at 50.14 yen.

The top positive contributor was Recruit Holdings <6098>, pushing up The Nikkei by 9.63 yen. HOYA <7741> with 3.09 yen, KDDI <9433> with 3.01 yen, TOKYO GAS <9531> with 1.15 yen, OSAKA GAS <9532> with 0.92 yen.

By industry, all 33 industries were losers. Oil & Coal Products Sector ranked as a top loser, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, Air Transportation Sector, Textiles & Apparels Sector, and Rubber Products Sector.
