Nikkei 225 close on the 2nd = falling for the first time in 5 days, 793 yen lower to 58,057 yen
On the 2nd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 793.03 yen (-1.35%) lower from the previous weekend to 58,057.24 yen, falling for the first time in fifth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 337, lost was 1222, and unchanged was 32. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 280.77 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 102.68 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 48.13 yen, TDK <6762> was at 44.12 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 34.5 yen.
The top positive contributor was Fujikura <5803>, pushing up The Nikkei by 55.49 yen. This was followed by Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 25.90 yen, TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> at 19.89 yen, Sumitomo Electric <5802> at 16.38 yen, MITSUI & CO <8031> at 11.23 yen.
By industry, 9 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Banks Sector were among the top losers.
