The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1112, lost was 429, and unchanged was 51. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 124.34 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 91.45 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 32.09 yen, FANUC <6954> at 22.23 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 20.39 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 258.05 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 25.07 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 15.64 yen, FUJIFILM <4901> was at 9.53 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 9.19 yen.
By industry, 28 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Rubber Products Sector, Mining Sector, and Banks Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Pulp & Paper Sector, and Textiles & Apparels Sector were among the top losers.
