The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 352.97 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 51.34 yen, TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> at 16.88 yen, Sumitomo Metal Mining <5713> at 14.22 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 7.19 yen.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 247.68 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 29.78 yen, Lasertec <6920> was at 23.53 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 20.99 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 20.72 yen.
By industry, 22 of the 33 industries gained. Oil & Coal Products Sector ranked first, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Mining Sector, and Insurance Sector. Services Sector, Retail Trade Sector, and Other Products Sector were among the top losers.
