The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 369.02 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 104.29 yen, DISCO <6146> at 16.24 yen, Lasertec <6920> at 16.04 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 14.24 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 26.47 yen to The Nikkei. Below, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 19.89 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 14.37 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 12.63 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 11.5 yen.
By industry, 18 of the 33 industries gained. Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, and Banks Sector. Electric Power & Gas Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Land Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
