On the 20th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 592.47 yen (-1.11%) lower from the previous day to 52,991.10 yen, falling for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 410, lost was 1144, and unchanged was 43. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 180.5 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 110.3 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 105.09 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 59.16 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 25.9 yen.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 56.96 yen. This was followed by AEON <8267> at 13.29 yen, KIKKOMAN <2801> at 8.36 yen, KDDI <9433> at 8.02 yen, Shionogi <4507> at 8.02 yen.
By industry, 7 of the 33 industries gained. Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector ranked first, followed by Retail Trade Sector, Food Products Sector, and Air Transportation Sector. Services Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
