The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 101.61 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 97.87 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 83.43 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 47.13 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 42.12 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 21.36 yen to The Nikkei. Below, IBIDEN <4062> was at 9.76 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 7.92 yen, Otsuka <4578> was at 6.52 yen, Sumitomo Electric <5802> was at 6.12 yen.
By industry, 31 of the 33 industries gained, with only two industries, Pharmaceuticals Sector and Electric Power & Gas Sector, lost. Oil & Coal Products Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Real Estate Sector, Banks Sector, Mining Sector, and Insurance Sector.
