The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1213, lost was 344, and unchanged was 43. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was TDK <6762>, pushing up The Nikkei by 19.55 yen. This was followed by SONY <6758> at 18.22 yen, KDDI <9433> at 16.45 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 15.64 yen, IBIDEN <4062> at 10.86 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 100.28 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 33.69 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 23.4 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 17.05 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 16.04 yen.
By industry, 30 of the 33 industries gained, with only 3 industries, Transportation Equipment Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Rubber Products Sector, lost. Air Transportation Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Pharmaceuticals Sector, Other Products Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Other Financial Business Sector, and Marine Transportation Sector.
