The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1050, lost was 500, and unchanged was 55. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 172.48 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 126.35 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 101.28 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 25.74 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 25.67 yen.
The top positive contributor was Recruit Holdings <6098>, pushing up The Nikkei by 21.76 yen. This was followed by BayCurrent Inc <6532> at 9.16 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 8.69 yen, KDDI <9433> at 7.82 yen, TERUMO <4543> at 7.22 yen.
By industry, 19 of the 33 industries gained. Pulp & Paper Sector ranked first, followed by Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Services Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Machinery Sector were among the top losers.
