On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 128.99 yen (0.26%) higher from the previous day to 49,512.28 yen, rebound for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 662, lost was 880, and unchanged was 62.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 73.54 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 43.12 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 35.10 yen, FANUC <6954> at 19.89 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 14.74 yen.
KDDI <9433> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 10.23 yen to The Nikkei. Below, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 9.23 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 7.02 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 6.85 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 5.68 yen.
By industry, 11 of the 33 industries gained. Insurance Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Iron & Steel Sector. Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Rubber Products Sector were among the top losers.
