On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 695.59 yen (-1.44%) lower from the previous day to 47,582.15 yen, falling for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 428, lost was 1132, and unchanged was 51. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 167.01 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 161.62 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 47.68 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 23.23 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 22.73 yen.
The top positive contributor was Nintendo <7974>, pushing up The Nikkei by 10.77 yen. This was followed by AEON <8267> at 7.93 yen, KDDI <9433> at 7.88 yen, Kao <4452> at 2.93 yen, Sumitomo Metal Mining <5713> at 2.14 yen.
By industry, 7 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Food Products Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Warehousing & Harbor Transportation Service Sector. Insurance Sector, Banks Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector were among the top losers.
