The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1130, lost was 441, and unchanged was 47. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 51.05 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 44.57 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 37.48 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 33.53 yen, SUZUKI MOTOR <7269> at 24.58 yen.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 46.6 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SONY <6758> was at 18.4 yen, Lasertec <6920> was at 7.83 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 7.7 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 5.57 yen.
By industry, 25 of the 33 industries gained. Services Sector ranked first, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Information & Communication Sector, and Precision Instruments Sector. Banks Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Electric Power & Gas Sector were among the top losers.
