The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 520, lost was 1040, and unchanged was 63. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.

Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 42.04 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 34.04 yen, TDK <6762> was at 13.42 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 12.49 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 11.95 yen.

The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 71.58 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 34.44 yen, DISCO <6146> at 11.62 yen, HOYA <7741> at 9.37 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 5.37 yen.

By industry, 7 of the 33 industries gained. Securities & Commodities Futures Sector ranked first, followed by Precision Instruments Sector, Construction Sector, and Services Sector. Electric Power & Gas Sector, Other Products Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector were among the top losers.
