The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 39.17 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 12.66 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 10.13 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 10.13 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> at 9.79 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 23.5 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 6.84 yen, KYOCERA <6971> was at 6.48 yen, Fujikura <5803> was at 6.25 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 6.08 yen.
By industry, 17 of the 33 industries gained. Electric Power & Gas Sector ranked first, followed by Banks Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector. Marine Transportation Sector, Iron & Steel Sector, and Nonferrous Metals Sector were among the top losers.
