On the 27th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 566.21 yen (1.43%) higher from the previous day to 40,150.79 yen, rising for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1185, lost was 395, and unchanged was 44. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 113.26 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 69.45 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 49.89 yen, TDK <6762> at 42.16 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 33.73 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 30.6 yen to The Nikkei. Below, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 6.79 yen, NIDEC <6594> was at 5.8 yen, OLYMPUS <7733> was at 4.92 yen, Asahi Group <2502> was at 2.59 yen.
By industry, 29 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Electric Appliances Sector. Mining Sector, Food Products Sector, and Warehousing & Harbor Transportation Service Sector were among the top losers.
