The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1187, lost was 379, and unchanged was 59. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 138.90 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 135.71 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 102.58 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 100.78 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> at 17.46 yen.
DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 7.88 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Renesas Electronics <6723> was at 7.85 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> was at 6.32 yen, HOYA <7741> was at 4.99 yen, OLYMPUS <7733> was at 4.06 yen.
By industry, 30 of the 33 industries gained, with only 3 industries, Precision Instruments Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Food Products Sector, lost. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Electric Power & Gas Sector, Insurance Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Machinery Sector.
