On the 16th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 477.08 yen (1.26%) higher from the previous weekend to 38,311.33 yen, rebound for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1131, lost was 432, and unchanged was 62. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 217.93 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 41.31 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 38.32 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 21.45 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 9.65 yen.
DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 10.31 yen to The Nikkei. Below, NEXON <3659> was at 8.48 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 4.07 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 3.33 yen, HOYA <7741> was at 2.99 yen.
By industry, 26 of the 33 industries gained. Wholesale Trade Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Textiles & Apparels Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector. Oil & Coal Products Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Pulp & Paper Sector were among the top losers.
