The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 291, lost was 1301, and unchanged was 35. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 119.74 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 60.67 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 27.74 yen, TDK <6762> was at 24.45 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 20.29 yen.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 53.49 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 46.30 yen, BANDAI NAMCO <7832> at 20.06 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 16.80 yen, NEXON <3659> at 14.64 yen.
By industry, 7 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Oil & Coal Products Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Marine Transportation Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Textiles & Apparels Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
