On the 12th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 140.93 yen (0.38%) higher from the previous weekend to 37,644.26 yen, rising for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1117, lost was 472, and unchanged was 42. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 160.99 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 33.43 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 17.56 yen, TDK <6762> at 16.22 yen, Trend Micro <4704> at 12.71 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 91.3 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KONAMI <9766> was at 33.26 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 28.84 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 27.54 yen, Shionogi <4507> was at 15.27 yen.
By industry, 25 of the 33 industries gained. Warehousing & Harbor Transportation Service Sector ranked first, followed by Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Mining Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Services Sector, and Other Products Sector were among the top losers.
