On the 7th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 51.03 yen (-0.14%) lower from the previous weekend to 36,779.66 yen, falling for the first time in eighth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1035, lost was 547, and unchanged was 50. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 48.7 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 28.94 yen, SONY <6758> was at 25.11 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 21.15 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 14.97 yen.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 76.34 yen. This was followed by KDDI <9433> at 23.95 yen, Mitsubishi <8058> at 9.63 yen, RYOHIN KEIKAKU <7453> at 8.71 yen, Nitori <9843> at 8.32 yen.
By industry, 21 of the 33 industries gained. Air Transportation Sector ranked first, followed by Wholesale Trade Sector, Insurance Sector, and Banks Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, and Chemicals Sector were among the top losers.
