On the 24th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 170.52 yen (0.49%) higher from the previous day to 35,039.15 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 602, lost was 984, and unchanged was 46. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 73.34 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 46.83 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 43.31 yen, TDK <6762> at 24.20 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 22.78 yen.
KDDI <9433> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 33.13 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KONAMI <9766> was at 21.79 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 19.96 yen, BANDAI NAMCO <7832> was at 15.27 yen, Nitori <9843> was at 13.8 yen.
By industry, 17 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Insurance Sector, and Marine Transportation Sector. Land Transportation Sector, Food Products Sector, and Real Estate Sector were among the top losers.
