On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 343.42 yen (0.93%) higher from the previous weekend to 37,396.52 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1223, lost was 364, and unchanged was 48. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 59.19 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 46.86 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 28.21 yen, TDK <6762> at 21.46 yen, SONY <6758> at 11.67 yen.
Recruit Holdings <6098> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 45.87 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 21.31 yen, Fujikura <5803> was at 2.79 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 2.76 yen, Nitori <9843> was at 2.38 yen.
By industry, 28 of the 33 industries gained. Machinery Sector ranked first, followed by Real Estate Sector, Construction Sector, and Electric Power & Gas Sector. Services Sector, Retail Trade Sector, and Nonferrous Metals Sector were among the top losers.
