The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1290, lost was 318, and unchanged was 27. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 48.83 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 37.29 yen, SONY <6758> at 23.67 yen, TERUMO <4543> at 20.52 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 19.73 yen.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 25.15 yen to The Nikkei. Below, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 17.1 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 15.59 yen, DISCO <6146> was at 7.17 yen, TDK <6762> was at 5.43 yen.
By industry, 27 of the 33 industries gained. Machinery Sector ranked first, followed by Pulp & Paper Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Glass & Ceramics Products Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Real Estate Sector were among the top losers.
