On the 21st, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 98.90 yen (0.26%) higher from the previous day to 38,776.94 yen, rebound for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 554, lost was 1029, and unchanged was 54. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was CHUGAI PHARMA <4519>, pushing up The Nikkei by 32.45 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 25.15 yen, SONY <6758> at 13.32 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> at 13.15 yen, BANDAI NAMCO <7832> at 12.92 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 48.83 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 20.32 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 12.03 yen, Trend Micro <4704> was at 10.85 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 10.65 yen.
By industry, 19 of the 33 industries gained. Pharmaceuticals Sector ranked first, followed by Rubber Products Sector, Insurance Sector, and Air Transportation Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Precision Instruments Sector were among the top losers.
